Introducing Senior Manager of School and District Partnerships: Sherri Abel

We asked Sherri a few questions about her life inside and outside of Derivita and here are the results:

1. In 2 sentences, please describe what you do for Derivita. 

I work with districts and schools to increase discourse in the classroom, to inform instruction in the moment, and to individualize instruction for students through the use of Derivita.

2. What makes Derivita different from other companies in the EdTech space? 

There are so many things that separate Derivita from other EdTech companies! The short list includes the MATH. Derivita does math like no other company. It can ask truly open-ended questions (i.e. "Give an example of...") and autograde student responses while giving the student personalized feedback. Also, the way Derivita works with clients (district persons, teachers, and students) is truly special. We want the feedback from all stakeholders to continue enhancing the product.

3. What is your favorite part about working at Derivita? 

My favorite part of working at Derivita is the PEOPLE. I get to work with some of the smartest, kindest, caring people on the planet. I also get to work with other teachers and students across the country which makes my job the best ever.

4. What is your most listened to or your go-to song right now? 

"Made You Look" by Meghan Trainor.

5. We're still in the holiday spirit! What is your favorite holiday tradition?

One of my favorite holiday traditions is to snuggle up with a fuzzy blanket, hot chocolate, and a good Hallmark Christmas movie or 2.... or maybe 8. Don't judge me! LOL
