Job Description


  • We are looking for skilled, detail-oriented undergraduate students to test the questions in our homework system. 
  • This is a part-time (6-8 hours/week), fully remote position but you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin. 
  • $15/hour

What You’ll Do


A Question Tester manually assures the quality of our questions that will be seen online by tens of thousands of students and teachers by interacting with all aspects of the question: prompt, solutions, feedback, help features, etc. Question testers also perform occasional quality assurance (QA) testing of our software and provide feedback on our software from the perspective of a student. They note ease of use when interacting with the software, presentation and display of content, and provide suggestions for improvement. 


A Question Tester ensures the high quality of each question by verifying:


  • the right answer and variations on the right answer are marked correct and all incorrect answers are marked incorrect. 
  • if the targeted feedback is useful and addresses the specific error.
  • whether diagrams, images, and graphs match the prompt, present relevant information, and interactive features are easy to work with.
  • clarity, spelling, and grammar in the prompt, solutions, and feedback. 
  • bad or poor randomizations of the problem by checking several variations of the same question to be sure the randomization works.


Qualifications:


  • Successful completion of courses in biology, history, and/or ELA. 
  • Successful completion of math courses up through and including calculus (preferred).
  • QA experience (preferred)
  • Completion of a technical writing course (preferred)
