Engaging Students Online and In-Class with Derivita
The abrupt transition to remote learning last Spring brought a unique set of challenges for math educators. Faculty are now faced with how to effectively teach classes in a combination of in-class, hybrid, and online modalities. At the Spring 2021 ArizMATYC Conference, Derivita's CEO, Devlin Daley presented on how Derivita can be utilized in any math course, regardless of modality. Devlin showed some of Derivita's newest features including: assignment assembly (with access to 30,000+ questions), Show Work for capturing handwritten student work, and Spotcheck, a synchronous, online tool that encourages real-time student participation (even on Zoom!).
