Introducing Partner Success Manager: Katherine Ward

At Derivita we are passionate about math, education, and bettering both the instructor’s and learner’s journeys. We are passionate about food, music, reading, baking, dancing, and everything in between. We have families and dogs and cats. We listen to Spotify and watch the latest Marvel movies - just like you!

This month, on "Meet Derivita", we’re introducing Partner Success Manager:
Katherine Ward

Headshot of Katherine Ward

We asked Katherine a few questions about her life inside and outside of Derivita and here are the results:

1. In 2 sentences, please describe what you do for Derivita.

Partner Success is, well, all about being laser-focused on our amazing partners. We are the day-to-day contact for our partners and we strive to provide/maintain an exceptional Derivita experience for instructors and students alike - one that we hope exceeds our partners' expectations.

2. What makes Derivita different from other companies in the EdTech space?

Well, for one incredible thing, Derivita actually does math.  *Mic Drop*.  Add in the targeted feedback, accessibility, and why would you try anything else?! Derivita is on a mission to help students succeed in math. Catching them early, building their critical thinking skills and confidence, will go a long way toward getting students ready for and excited about college-level mathematics.

3. What is your favorite part about working at Derivita?

The people and the culture. They and it are pretty special. And my manager? She's pretty darn swanky.

4. What is your most listened to or your go-to song right now?

Oooof.

These are the most difficult questions in the universe for me. Listening to The Wrecks, Favorite Liar, gets me all super-saucy. I love those crazy kids. Also, I'm kind of digging Insomnia by Moss. My go-to's for lengthier listening pleasure include, but are not limited to: The Replacements, Valerie June, Old 97's, Macy Gray, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chris Cornell anything (RIP), Pixies, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, any reggae, some of the hair bands of the 80s (Skid Row, Tesla, I'm talking to you) ....ok, I can't do it. I have too many and would have to start breaking things down by genre.

5. Any Valentine's Day plans?

Negative. It's a school night. However, I'm not really good friends with Valentine's Day. I think it's more romantic (*barf*) to receive declarations of love and affection on days you don't feel obligated to do so. Please see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=epWF2kpD-AA.
